I had high hopes for Kumo Hitotsu Nai ever since he was born. He looks good and walks well, so the staff at Shirai Farm said, "It would be interesting to put him up for sale at the Selection Sale." I calculated the price at over 30 million yen and lived a carefree life.

When he was born, he would circle around in his stable, cry all the time, and was really restless. He got along better with the deer than the horses in the pasture, so I was seriously thinking about putting a stuffed deer in his stable so that he wouldn't get into the circling habit. After that, I bought a crow figure for the time being. As time passed, he gradually calmed down, so I didn't have to buy a stuffed deer.

In March 2023, I had examined his bones and throat to apply for the Selection Sale, and a problem was found in his bones. It was a bone cyst disease, which causes cavities in the bones. At this point, I had to give up on the auction and the union, and I had no choice but to race him under my name.

Even if a horse has a bone cyst, it can run normally if there are no problems with its gait, but Kumo had problems with its gait the following month and had to have a bolt put in its leg. At this point, he was told to rest for the rest of the year, and his future as a racehorse was bleak.

There was another horse of the same generation, a Saturnalia mare named Turu Ko. She was rejected by Union, so I was planning to have her run under my name. I had already decided on a stable.

However, the future was bleak with Kumo, and in May 2023, we had to suddenly stop streaming Mame-chan due to the circumstances of the farm. With no prospect of income, we reluctantly decided to let Turu Ko go. It was tough when I had to call trainer Tsujino, who I had asked through Shirai-san, to decline for my own convenience.

After that, I was planning to sell Turu Ko for about 15 million yen and use the money to pay everyone's deposit fees, but the selling price was only 3 million yen...

I had assumed that I would be able to sell it for over 15 million yen, but the Long Tee Ketchup and Shita Pants I bought before that totaled 9 million yen... Yes, this is a total disaster...

At that time, Kumo was not allowed to graze in the paddock, so he spent the whole day in the stable. Once a day, a new member of the ranch would pull him for about 10 minutes. It was a simple exercise that consisted of walking back and forth about 20 meters.

As you know, after that he was moved to Kibe Farm and began his solitary life of rehabilitation.
